Mechatronics is a field of knowledge which constitutes a combination of five areas: mechanical engineering, electronics, computer science, automatics and robotics. The combination of these scientific disciplines is not accidental in view of the fact that it enables the optimization of design and manufacturing processes in modern industry. Such an approach to design and manufacturing has imposed the need to educate specialists in the field of mechatronics. The world of science regards mechatronics as one of the fastest developing modern branches of technology

The degree programme in mechatronics has an interdisciplinary character and includes basic courses (mathematics, physics), major courses and specialization courses. Major and specialization courses enable students to gain knowledge on mechanics, construction and operation of machines, electronics, computer science, robotics and materials science.
